$900 profit on a $90 risk today

AMC for the win

I don't promise you monster trades. I just promise you trades that make money.

Once again, the trade was $AMC today.

And to be clear, there was no way I was looking to short this stock. I thought it'd be fun to trade it because it was a very low-risk trade for a decent reward. That is the essence of day trading.

Here’s how it played out. You wait for it to come to the price you want, wait for the fake-out shakeout, and then you buy it.

When it broke the low of the day and came right back, the entry price was $2.18. You were literally risking 8 cents on that trade, and it went up 20 cents.

Missed that one? It came back down, gave you another double bottom, broke VWAP, and offered an entry where you risked about 4 cents to make 25 cents.

But let's say you missed that one too.

It came down to test the exact same price - $2.10 - and you know that above prior-day VWAP is where you should start buying. At this point, you are literally risking 3 cents.

  • If you buy 3,000 shares on a 3-cent risk, that’s a $90 risk.
  • The stock got back to $2.39 and then to $2.45.

Let’s be conservative…

Let’s say you bought at $2.15 with a nickel risk.

3,000 shares = a $150 risk.

At $2.15, it goes up 30 cents. That's a $900 trade on a $150 risk.

That is nearly a 10-to-1 ratio. You can't ask for more. AMC for the win.

And of course, we shorted the $QQQ. I came in this morning and said, "I'm not buying gapped-up markets on a Monday. Let's wait for the sell-off." Suddenly, there's the sell-off, there's your inverse, there's your VWAP break. We got paid. And then we flipped and got on the long side too.

We also caught a nice little SpaceX scalp.

Got paid on the short: $125 down to $120. Covered.

Then went long at $122.20 for a blue-line-to-orange-line rip of about $2.00.

And that's your day. Fantastic. It’s every day, baby. It doesn't have to be monster trades. When you risk 3 cents to make 25 cents, that's perfect. When you risk 50 cents to make $1.50, that's pretty damn good.

I made a video summarizing all of the action.

P.S. 10-to-1 risk-reward on AMC. A beautiful short-to-long sequence on the QQQ. A textbook scalp on SpaceX. I hope you guys have been following along and making money. See you in the room.
